My attempt at being artsy, for no particular reason; just because! Just B-Cuz

Growing up I was never very artsy or poetic at all. I never had the urge to doodle on my notebook or create any kind of visual artwork. I would always rather be physically building something that works or fixing something I find that is broken.Through my long college stay, I didn't have the extra time to even attempt to do anything creative.

I decided that now that i have more time on my hands I woul to try to tap into my artsy side and see what spills out. Through my viewing of Myspace pages of some UK people, I was inspired to attempt to make some custom t-shirts. I've never done anything like this so I have no idea how it is going to turn out.

Last week, during my lunch break, I went to Michael's Arts and Crafts store. I went in and bought simply some fabric paint and some small brushes. Then I went to Champ's Sports and bought 5 t-shirts for $20. Then over the weekend I sat down and went to work on the shirts. This is what came out (You like?):

Blockbuster or Hollywood Video? Neither, I'm going with RedBox.

So, it's a friday night and you are tryna figure out what to do for the night. However, you don't get paid until Monday and you don't have much loot to hit the town with. Here's an idea, why not just have a movie night in the house your girlfriend.

So, as you are on your way to Blockbuster's to get two movies, you can't help but notice this bright red vending kiosk outside of McDonald's. What? Does it really say DVD rentals $1 per night. Yep, it sure does. Fuck with Blockbuster, I'm hittin' that red box.

For the past year or so, I have seen these RedBox vending machines at select McDonald's locations, but never had the urge to use it. Lately, I have been noticing them poppin up in Grocery Stores and WalMarts all over. It wasn't until recently when I realized that it cost just $1 a night for a dvd rental that I decided to try it out. Since then, all I have to say to Blockbuster and Hollywood Video is "Kiss My Bumper, Just Kiss It". There is no way I am gonna pay $5 for a dvd I could get for $1. Also, more than likely there is a McDonald's closer to my house than a video rental store.

Some other advantages that I feel RedBox has over traditional video rental places is that you can return them to any location, not just the one you got it from. They also can work kinda like NetFlix in the way that you can order your movie online and someone will come to the location you choose to stock that machine with your movie. Every Tuesday someone comes to stock the machines with the new releases that just came out that week.

As if this wasn't a good enough service already, RedBox has thrown in some very generous extras for those who know about them. The RedBox vending machines have an option for you to enter a code to recieve special deals on your rental. All the codes that I've seen or used so far let you get free one-day movie rentals. There are several sites that track these codes. The site I like to use to track these codes is http://www.insideredbox.com. By leveraging the codes from the Inside Redbox website (which appear almost daily), you could theoretically enjoy non-stop free rentals. This means instead of renting two Blockbuster movies for ten dollars, you can still rent two movies for free and buy a bottle of wine to sip on while watching the movies. Now that's the kinda movie night I'm talkin bout.

It's On and Poppin'

Well, here I'm gonna be doing something a little out of character for me. As those who know me know, I am not generally the type of person that likes to write down my thoughts or even the type to log my daily life and activities. But, here I will be doing exactly that. Welcome to my BLOG, Sheed's BLOG. Here I'll be sharing with you some of the insane thoughts I may have, new things that I am currently into, and just some of the general crazyness of my everday life. Trust me, there is hardly ever a dull day in my life, and that will be the fuel for this page. So, I want everyone to have a seat and buckle their seat belts, because I have a feeling that you all may be in for one hell of a ride. 'Til next post.....
